Installation System of Electromechanical Digital Discharge Redorder DG-Meter :

Part I

First DQ-Meter recorder will install at upstream side of H.R. gate. PVC pipe on fabricated structure will install from top of chamber to sill portion in the canal at upstream side of H.R. gate. Float will keep in that closed pipe chamber. Rising or falling down water level in the closed chamber will relatively transform to float and pulley mechanism. This float movement will electronically sense and data will store in hardware unit. The same data will transfer to control station at H.R. gate by wired transmission system to record available water head in canal from sill level (H1). Similar procedure will fallow to install second DQ-Meter recorder at downstream side chamber after H.R. gate to evaluate actual water head (H2) in canal from bed level and same will transfer to control station at H.R. gate by wired transmission system.

FRP Gauge plate will fix inside chamber to visualize water level in canal and use for zero setting of instrument. Float will keep inside closed chamber and electronic sensor will couple with pulley shaft. Rising or falling down water level in canal will relatively transform to float and pulley shaft. This shaft movement will send through electronic sensor and same will store in programme unit. Selection of time interval is from 1 minute to 999 minutes. This time stamping will set in hardware programme. At preset time, water level in canal will record and store in programme unit. This store data will transmit through shielded cable covered in PVC pipe to Sub-Server installed at H.R. gate for further process.

Part II Installation of Digital Recorder on HR Gates

Motor and hand driven facility is kept for rising or lowering of H.R. gates. Mechanical couplings will install on main gear shaft and electronic sensor will couple with it. Movement of gate will transfer to main gear box shaft and same will count through electronic sensor. For H.R. gates, electronic sensor will use to record independent movement of each gate. This movement of all sensors (DLG1 +DLG2 +DLG3+DLG4 etc.) will record in hardware unit and average opening area will calculate. This data will transmit to Sub – Server installed at H.R. gate through wired transmission system for further process.

In discharge formula, value of Cd has prime importance. As per discharge curve, value of Cd is depending upon percentage of opening of gate. This data will collect from Mechanical Department’s record and same will store in programme unit at H.R. gate. Gate opening, percentage and value of Cd will automatically workout and record in hardware programme. Same data will transfer to sub-server through wired transmission system for further process.

Part III Installtion of Sub Servor at H.R Gate

Sub-server (S1) will install at H.R.gate in closed constructed room. Function of sub-server is to collect all the data stored in different programme units (PG1 + PG2 + PG3) by wired transmission and collect in sub-server hardware for further process. This collected data in sub – server will give to LCD display in control room with following information.

  1. Upstream dam water head (H1) in canal.
  2. Downstream water head (H2) in canal.
  3. H.R. Gate opening position for LG1, LG2, LG3,LG4 etc.
  4. Discharge in Sina-Bhima Link canal in cusecs / cumecs.
  5. Date and time of latest recorded data in programme unit.

Dot – Matrix printer for A – 4 sheet is attached to display board. All the data displayed on LCD display will print on paper in one line format. Continuous stationary will use for continuous printing.

Dongle port and memory card port is kept to all program units of recordes, at Sub-Servor and display board. So data can collect directly on dongle for different parameters and can feed to software installed at division office computer through decoding unit for analysis. Memory card facility is also given for data in excel / words sheet.

Electrical supply for Sub – server system will be from mains. To avoid electrical damages due to voltage fluctuation total electrical system will be supported by servo stabilizer.
